IAHTM Names Alan Schwartz A ‘2018 Lifetime Achievement’ Recipient

Powell, OH. – Oct. 19, 2018 – The International Association for Healthcare Textile Management (IAHTM) has named Alan Schwartz a “2018 Lifetime Achievement” recipient. The honor was presented at IAHTM’s annual meeting held recently in Naples, FL.

IAHTM is a nonprofit membership organization that supports senior-level textile managers in healthcare laundry cooperatives. The organization provides resources to maximize efficiency while maintaining quality and patient focus.

Additionally, the organization recognizes outstanding individuals in the textile industry by presenting an annual Lifetime Achievement award. This award is given to those who have made significant contributions to the industry throughout their careers.

Recently the retired president of Superior Uniform Group, Seminole, FL, Schwartz, remains as a consultant and a member of its board of directors. IAHTM’s 2nd VP, Nicole Grubich, who is the executive director of West Michigan Shared Hospital Laundry in Grand Rapids, MI, nominated him for the award.

In her nomination, Grubich said of Schwartz: “Alan has led our industry with innovation, advocacy, and textile globalization. He has been a supporter of IAHTM as well as other associations and, as a contributor to many industry events, he has provided education for all both here and overseas.”

Also, at the event, Steve Ripley received a 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award. He was a former president of Space Coast Hospital Services Inc., Rockledge, FL.
