Gerry Daigle is vice president of the Canadian Business Unit of MIP Inc., a global manufacturer and distributor of reusable of healthcare textiles and related products based in Montreal, QC, Canada. IAHTM is a nonprofit membership organization for healthcare laundry cooperatives that provides senior-level textile managers with resources and support to maximize their laundries’ efficiencies and control costs without compromising quality or patient focus.
IAHTM awards the Lifetime Achievement recognition each year to an individual who has made career-long contributions to the textile industry. The organization’s board member, Paul Seigel nominated Brad Daigle for the award. Seigel highlighted Daigle’s active role in educating healthcare laundries on the benefits of reusable incontinent products instead of disposables. Additionally, Daigle introduced the industry to the advantages of knitted hospital linens over woven bed linens. He continually participates and volunteers in proactive efforts to promote the industry’s educational aspects and growth.
“Gerry has lots of fans in the industry who have recognized that, in many ways, it’s because of the career-long contributions and support of folks like him that we’re able to enjoy continued success,” Seigel said. “We’re happy to salute Gerry Daigle with our ‘2016 Lifetime Achievement’ award.”
Daigle, upon receiving the award, said, “This is a great honor. The industry is changing by the day and it’s important to keep up or get left behind. IAHTM is one of those organizations that’s leading the way and I’m proud to receive their distinguished appreciation.”
