2015 Lifetime Achievement Award – Inaugural Winner Don Pedder and Jim Hunt

Powell, OH – Oct. 30, 2015 –. The International Association for Healthcare Textile Management (IAHTM) honors James Hunt and Don Pedder as its “2015 Lifetime Achievement” recipients.

The IAHTM presented the newly created honor for the first time at its Annual Meeting and Education Conference held in Clearwater Beach, FL from Oct. 24-28. Ed McCauley, the Past President of IAHTM, presented the award to Chris Hunt, who accepted it on behalf of his father, Jim Hunt, at the same conference.

McCaulley said that Jim Hunt and Don Pedder, with their distinguished careers, developed IAHTM’s group purchasing program. The program allows members to enjoy lower costs than those of the largest GPOs and management firms. In addition, he explained that the success of the program enables IAHTM to generously subsidize the continuing education and training of members and their staff.

The IAHTM Lifetime Achievement award was established to honor an individual’s career-long contributions to and accomplishments in the textile industry.

In recognition of their career-long accomplishments in the textile industry, IAHTM established the Lifetime Achievement award, which Jim and Don were the first to receive. They are also credited with creating the modern IAHTM conference, which now welcomes vendors and provides meaningful conferences with relevant subjects.

Don Pedder has over 45 years of experience in the commercial laundry industry. He has assisted laundries in reducing costs and enhancing profits. Pedder is also an independent inspector for the Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council.

Jim Hunt was an active IAHTM member for over 20 years. Furthermore, the organization’s scholarship fund, named after him, reimburses eligible members for educational-related registration fees and travel costs.
