TRSA and IAHTM Announce Strategic Advocacy Partnership to Strengthen Industry Voice Across North America

The Textile Rental Services Association (TRSA) and the International Association of Healthcare Textile Management (IAHTM) announced today a new strategic collaboration to better align and advance advocacy efforts on behalf of the uniform, linen, and facility services industry across the United States and Canada.

The partnership establishes a coordinated framework to advance shared policy priorities, expand industry engagement with policymakers, and strengthen the collective voice of organizations supporting reusable healthcare textiles and essential service operations.

Under the agreement, IAHTM will actively participate in TRSA-led advocacy initiatives, including federal and state outreach, regulatory engagement, and in-person advocacy events. IAHTM leadership will also serve on TRSA’s Government Relations and Canadian Strategic Advocacy Committees, ensuring direct input into key issue development, strategic planning, and policy positioning.

“This collaboration represents a meaningful step forward in unifying the industry’s advocacy efforts”, said Joe Ricci, TRSA President and CEO. “By aligning with IAHTM, we are expanding our ability to deliver clear, consistent, and impactful engagement with policymakers that reflect our industry’s priorities.”

The partnership will focus on a broad set of policy areas relevant to both organizations’ members including reusable healthcare textile adoption, environmental and sustainability regulations, workforce and safety policies, taxation, and trade issues.

“This partnership provides our members with a stronger, more direct connection to advocacy efforts already underway,” said Charles Berge, IAHTM President. “It ensures healthcare textile leaders have a clear voice in policy discussions that affect their operations and the broader healthcare system.”

Together, TRSA and IAHTM aim to advance a more unified and effective advocacy approach that supports operational resilience, promotes sustainability, and reinforces the role of reusable healthcare textiles across the healthcare system.
